Therapy Services
Individual telehealth therapy for adults and teenagers:
Weekly is most common, but frequency of sessions and can be increased or decreased as needed.
All sessions are virtual, through a HIPAA compliant platform (Zoom or Sessions on Psychology Today).
Sessions are approximately 50 minutes.
Depending on your insurance, you will be asked to create an account with either Headway or Alma for billing and payments.
First session:
Prior to the first appointment, you will receive paperwork to complete.
The first session is an intake that includes an initial diagnosis (this is required by insurance companies).
This session will focus on learning about what brings you to therapy, more about your biopsychosocial history, your goals for therapy, and any questions that you have for me.
Subsequent sessions:
We will use a treatment plan (your goals) as a navigation guide, but you will lead the way with whatever we need to talk about in session.
The goal is to walk away from every session having gained something. It's important to know that people don't always "feel good" after therapy, though. Much like exercising, therapy is hard work and can sometimes leave us feeling "sore." Just like with a training program, slow and steady consistency helps us get results!
